Arriving in Argentina you will be met in arrivals in Corrientes by your pilot who will bring you by light aircraft across the stunning landscape of Esteros del Iberá, landing on a grass runway next to the Estancia.

The Esteros del Iberá are one of Argentina’s hidden secrets, a vast swathe of wetlands teeming with abundant animal life. This estancia, originally built in the 18th Century, is part of a conservation and protection project with a resident biologist monitoring the area. The vast estate is allowed to grow wild save the immaculate gardens immediately surrounding the estancia. Without question this is perfect Honeymoon territory being so remote and is the complete opposite of a standard beach Honeymoon – here you are very far off track and in the wonderful wilderness.

The refurbishment of the estancia has been done with a remarkable attention to detail incorporating beautiful antiques and original prints and paintings. The excellent meals of hearty Argentine country food with a contemporary edge are prepared with fresh organic produce from the estancia’s large garden and are simply delicious.

Activities here depend on the Honeymoon couple’s likes and interests but can include trips to the local lagoon (which you navigate by speedboat, stopping for a romantic barbecue at sunset), light aircraft flights across the wetlands and trips across the savannah with an Argentine gaucho on one of the 12 beautiful Criollo horses. The light aircraft remains at the Estancia during your stay and is available for further flight to another two Estancias in this area.

After four days spent on safari at the estancia it’s time to leave and head to the Iguacu falls. Made up of some 275 separate falls that cascade over a precipice 3km wide Foz do Iguacu is, without question, one of the world’s great natural wonders. Located on the border of Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina, their beauty and sheer magnificence really are indescribable. Our guide Wilson will arrive to give you an on-foot tour of the Argentinean side before you board a power-boat to get up close to the falls to fully experience this amazing phenomenon. Your luxury hotel is the only hotel actually based within the national park of the falls, a charming hacienda style lodge set amongst tranquil gardens. Fitting of a luxury Honeymoon Dehouche will select one of their favourite rooms decorated in the colonial era with high ceilings and king size four post bed the view from the large windows even allows for glimpses of the waterfall behind the tropical palms.

The next location on this dream Argentinean Honeymoon is the unspoilt land of Patagonia in the South a perfect Honeymoon location to enjoy the outdoor life and to soak up the breathtaking beauty of Patagonian landscapes. Trips can again be organised in these splendid surrounds including horse riding, 4×4 excursions, hiking and fishing. Accommodation is in a luxurious lodge set in the expansive and beautiful grounds of the local estancia which covers over 20,000 hectares, the perfect place to take a couple of horses out and get lost for a few hours. The activities are excellent and can be tailor-made exactly to the couples’ requirements – a wonderful end to a fantastic Honeymoon in Argentina.Contact Dehouche if you would like to construct a similar Honeymoon or vacation in Argentina.info@dehouche.com tel US:0800 690 6899, UK: 0871 284 7770 http://www.dehouche.com

The Honeymoon begins in a stylish luxury lodge ideally placed in the heart of Argentina’s wine region, surrounded by award winning producers of Malbec and Torrontes varietals. Stay in a spacious suite with four poster bed, a private plunge pool and a large secluded deck area affording fantastic views of the snow capped Andes on the horizon. The hotel also has a full spa service (including a crushed Malbec scrub). It almost goes without saying that there is a great wine cellar from which one can sample award winning wines. From here Dehouche arrange visits to the excellent Bodegas close by, as well as perhaps some white water rafting, cycling and horse riding depending on how adventurous the Honeymoon couple want to be.

After four nights relaxing in wine country it’s time for some city slicking and no city is more fun whilst being so inherently charming as the city of Buenos Aires, European in appearance but with a real South American feel, it is a joy to explore – well preserved historic districts coupled with an excellent nightlife and a relaxed café culture. Honeymooners will have a tailored and extensively researched recommendations on the best restaurants bars and nightclubs and of course a dedicated 24 hour Dehouche concierge on hand and local to the city. As befitting a Honeymoon the accommodation is very special indeed a large suite with private sun deck in a tucked away boutique hotel perfectly located in the chic tree lined streets of the Palermo Viejo district where all the best bars, restaurants and shopping are to be found. The Dehouche local guide Diana will join you for a custom made tour of the city based on your requirements, making sure that everything is done at your pace including all the important sights as well as some little known hideaways off the beaten track.

It’s now time to enjoy some more of that famous wine and so it’s off to the lesser known wine region of Salta which is a picturesque region of rolling hills and vineyards. The secluded ranch, owned by actor Robert Duvall is the perfect spot for a honeymoon to conclude; nicknamed ‘Salta la Linda’ or ‘Salta the beautiful’ by locals and tourists alike. The Ranch operates a hands off yet courteous service, resulting in a truly relaxed atmosphere. For the adventurous this environment provides the perfect platform for some fantastic hiking and climbing in the mountains and exhilarating rafting on the rivers all of which can be easily arranged. The ranch offers transport to the city of Salta for any exploring or shopping for some souvenirs to take home, and there is also a spa on hand to relax in, welcome respite after roaming the mountains or the aisles, or indeed sampling some of the local nectar. A perfect Honeymoon in Argentina’s wonderful wine regions!Contact Dehouche if you would like to construct a similar Honeymoon vacation in Argentina.

Arriving in Argentina the Honeymoon couple will be taken to a connecting flight to El Calafate where a driver awaits to take them on to a luxury lodge.

Los Glaciares National Park, has 13 glaciers, including the Perito Moreno, the only glacier in the world not to be receding. It stands 200 feet high and is 2 ½ miles in length, testament to the amazing power and raw natural beauty of this stunning landscape. Accommodation is in a charming lodge decorated with antiques, set in the grounds of a large working estancia situated in a secluded spot in the unspoilt Andean foothills and with outstanding cuisine and impeccable service. The bedroom selected for the Honeymoon is large and with four poster bed and views out across the foothills to the high peaks beyond – simply breathtaking!

Next the Honeymoon couple will experience the wonderful city of Buenos Aires, European in appearance but with a real South American feel, it is a joy to explore – well preserved historic districts coupled with an excellent nightlife and a relaxed café culture.

To end the Honeymoon on a real high head to the beaches of Uruguay one of South America’s real hot spots. When those ‘in the know’ talk about Punta Del Este what they really mean is José Ignacio; a small fishing village that has become frequented by the rich and famous for its laid back, unpretentious cool – where fashion icons and Hollywood stars mix with refreshingly unphased locals. As a result there is a unique mixture of high quality restaurants and laid back rustic bars.

The beach, just 40 yards from the hotel, is beautiful, unspoilt and the perfect place to relax. Kite surfing and windsurfing is available as well as horse riding along the sand. Stay in an exclusive boutique hotel (one of only two in the village) with a beautiful pool area with wet bar and excellent but unobtrusive service. Views from the large bedroom are straight out to sea this will be a wonderfully relaxing end to the perfect Honeymoon in Latin America taking in some of the best of Argentina and Uruguay.Contact Dehouche if you would like to construct a similar Honeymoon vacation in Argentina.

While a certain amount of seclusion is certainly a key factor in any honeymoon, to many couples the idea of solely spending two weeks on a beach, even with the love of your life in a picture perfect setting, just doesn’t appeal. There’s no reason why a honeymoon can’t also be a good excuse to sample some faster paced sophisticated city time and happening nightlife. Some of South America’s great cities are a good place to start and while Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro may be famous internationally for tango and samba they also have a more modern side and an exciting club scene. Nightlife in Buenos Aires starts very late (it’s standard practice to arrive after 3am at a club) and there is a thriving electronic and underground scene, combined with the Argentine capital’s large and rapidly changing selection of excellent restaurants and modern boutique hideaways, this is a perfect spot for a happening city-break honeymoon. Rio de Janeiro throws a tropical climate and beach lifestyle into the mix and, although to a lesser extent, still has an ever increasing range of chic clubs and bars, but perhaps the most cosmopolitan city of all is the often over looked Sao Paulo. Several factors, firstly the massive concentration of wealth in the city (this is after all the city with the largest fleet of private aircraft in the world), and secondly the lack of naturally occurring attractions which cities like Rio can always fall back on, Sao Paulo has an incredible range of world class restaurants (Michelin aren’t here yet but Sao Paulo has the largest number of Brazil’s equivalent 3 starred establishments), and the country’s best night life, from small underground electronic meccas, to full on glitzy nightclubs where it can cost you more than 00 just to walk in the door. There is no shortage of luxury lodgings to rest your head either, the Paulista elite know how to splash out and won’t stand for poor service. A suite at one of the city’s top hotels is a seriously stylish option for a honeymoon with a difference. So you don’t get lost planning a trip in these urban jungles you need to go with the experts, not only to make sure your in nothing but the best hotel room in the coolest neighbourhood but also to recommend on where the party is on any given night, and which the best restaurants to check out are from trendy new openings to the old classics you simply can’t miss.

Let Dehouche arrange your luxury boutique hotel and enjoy a whole host of insider tips on where to truly escape from it all on your honeymoon.

Patagonia, The awe inspiring beauty of the Lake District a mythical landscape of clear blue lakes, dramatic peaks, and green forests – this unspoilt land is the perfect place to start off the Honeymoon in style. This is a place to experience natural beauty in its purest form. We can help organize trips into this undeveloped wilderness on horseback, 4×4, hiking and fishing in these splendid surrounds.

You stay in a luxurious lodge set in the expansive and beautiful grounds that cover over 20,000 hectares and surrounded by some of the lake districts’ most gorgeous countryside. The activities are plentiful from riding to sailing from fishing to golf and can be tailor-made exactly to your requirements, everything done with a personal and professional touch.

Then it’s off to the Glacier region of Patagonia staying in a historical lodge exclusively positioned on the shores of lake Viedma, with panoramic views of the lake, Mount Fitz Roy and the Andes Mountains. With comfortable rooms and excellent food it is an oasis among the glaciers, mountains and forests of the majestic natural landscape that surrounds it including a wood of Californian Redwood trees brought 100 years ago by its founder, the Finnish explorer Alfred Ranström.

This is a place to experience the raw natural beauty of nature in its purest form. Take trips into this unspoilt wilderness on horseback or on foot – for example trekking through valleys and up rivers until after crossing a lush wood of lengas trees you discover the brilliant Laguna Azul. Boat trips across the lake amongst the many gleaming icebergs as well as hiking across the Moreno glacier itself are unforgettable experiences

After the glaciers there is still more of Patagonia to see are few places in the world that can compare with Peninsula Valdes; a unique wildlife sanctuary that is the ideal place for close-up watching of whales, penguins, dark dolphins, elephant seals, sea lions, birds and Patagonian land-based species such as lesser rhea, mara (Patagonian hare), foxes, skunks or flocks of guanacos. A virtual island the peninsula has an other-worldly, almost desolate beauty. The long beaches, cliffs and salt flats are almost solely inhabited by the unique wildlife, enabling an experience that makes you feel you have travelled back in time to the age of Darwin.

You stay in a special estancia of just 8 rooms that is located in the heart of the national park with several miles of private coastline making this the best place to experience the true nature of this wilderness. You take excursions, walking tours and boat trips with our excellent guides to explore and sea the wildlife. With some luck you may even see the striking spectacle of the killer whale beaching itself to feed on the sea-lions.

Round off this fabulous Honeymoon with a few cocktails and a spot of fine dining back in civilisation in the happening streets of Buenos Aires with its Parisian style avenues, grand squares and elegant cafés it still has a distinctively South American feel, with laid back and friendly locals. This city is a real joy to explore with well preserved historic districts coupled with an excellent nightlife and a relaxed café culture. You will have our extensively researched recommendations on the best restaurants bars and nightclubs. You stay in a boutique designer hotel in the chic tree-lined streets of the Palermo Viejo district where all the best bars, restaurants and shopping are to be found. Owned by a famous interior designer, this is a beautifully hotel, with many antique pieces and little design touches. Our experienced guide Ana will join you for a custom-made tour of the city based on your requirements, making sure that everything is done at your pace. She is great fun to be with and has access to many locations off the tourist trail.Contact Dehouche if you would like to construct a similar Honeymoon or vacation in Argentina.info@dehouche.com tel US:0800 690 6899, UK: 0871 284 7770 http://www.dehouche.com

If you are fortunate enough to be honeymooning in South America between the months of June and September then the opportunity to ski or snowboard the majestic Andes awaits you. The best resorts tie in perfectly with visits to some of Argentina’s most beautiful destinations. Rio de Janeiro based travel agents Dehouche can take advantage of their network of local contacts across the continent to ensure that couples on their honeymoon get the best rooms in the most romantic hotels and cosy lodges. A suggested itinerary for energetic people who are keen on the great outdoors and are contemplating visiting Argentina during the southern hemisphere winter would involve flying into Buenos Aires and spending a couple of nights in a luxurious boutique hotel in the trendy Palermo district. Activities here would include a private city tour with a local guide and dinner while watching the best tango show in town. An internal flight would then whisk you to southern Argentina and the spectacular Patagonian Glacier region. Here you would spend 2 days on a boat getting up to close to these natural wonders, and 2 more days staying in a charming lodge which is ideally placed for hiking expeditions.

The next stop would be the breathtaking Patagonian Lake district, where you would stay near to town of Bariloche and get involved in horse riding and white water rafting, before heading 12 miles into the hills for a few nights in the resort of Cerro Catedral, which is the most developed ski area in South America, with 5000 acres of skiable terrain and plenty of challenging mogul runs and off piste areas for advanced skiers. There are 50 marked runs and 29 lifts, and the highest point of the resort is 6800 feet. The best place to stay is the Village Catedral Resort Hotel, handily located at the bottom of the mountain.

Another flight would take you from Bariloche to Mendoza, the capital of Argentina’s world renowned wine trade, where you can spend a few days in a boutique wine lodge. Dehouche again have all the necessary contacts and will arrange a tour with their local wine expert to show you around the bodegas (vineyards); there will also be a driver so that you can tuck into all of the tasty samples that are on offer! The final stop on this adventurous honeymoon would be another ski resort – Las Lenas, a one hour flight from Mendoza. The mountains here reaches 11,300 feet and this is the best place in the Andes for adrenalin pumping heli-skiing; of the 40 marked runs, 67% are for advanced skiers. The off piste action is what you really come here for though, and Dehouche will make sure you get to enjoy the best of it and that you finish your honeymoon in as action packed fashion as it began.

On the whole, Argentina is a safe country. But some people will say it is safer than others, depending on who you ask. So what’s the score? Dehouche, Argentina honeymoon experts, give you the latest on staying safe in Argentina

It Depends on Who you Ask

Residents of Buenos Aires regularly complain about the rising crime rates in the city – and it’s easy to see why. Robberies and crimes are often reported in the local media which is always hungry for a good scare story.

Yes, crimes do happen here. But in a city of 13 million that’s not much of a surprise. What you have to consider is how dangerous Buenos Aires is in comparison to any other major city, and the answer is not very.

London, New York, Los Angeles – Buenos Aires is no worse than any of these in the scale of dangerous cities. A city will always bring dangers, but none that you should be overly concerned about on a honeymoon in Argentina.

The Bigger Problem: Petty Crime

Violent crime does happen in Buenos Aires, but it very rarely involves tourists. Car owners seem to be the most at risk, especially those who also own large houses in the quieter outskirts of the city.

Tourists visiting the main highlights, as you will be doing on your Argentina honeymoon, the biggest danger will come from pickpockets and petty thieves. And when it comes to staying safe in the city, a few simple rules are always worth following to minimise the risks:

Don’t Look Lost

If you can avoid looking lost during your Argentina honeymoon, you will have more chance off passing off as a local. Although it can be tempting to drag out the Lonely Planet in the middle of the street to find out where you went wrong, you’d do better to take it into a café where you can peruse the pages for as long as you want. Alternatively, buy yourself a cheap ‘Guia-T’, the same guide that all the locals use.

Never Leave Bags Alone

Wherever you are and whatever time of the day it is, your bags pose a tempting target for thieves. You’re bound to meet at least one person who has had their belongings stolen while they were drinking a coffee in a crowded café.
If you want an adrenaline packed honeymoon in beautiful surroundings then look no further than the many diverse regions of Argentina and Chile. South America experts Dehouche can put together a unique tailor made itinerary to ensure that you have a totally unforgettable honeymoon. You could begin with a few days in Buenos Aires or Santiago, Chile’s buzzing capital city. Here you would stay in the best hotel in town, ideally positioned to appreciate the beauty of the Spanish colonial architecture that is evident throughout the cities. Dehouche will organise a local guide to give you a private tour that will ensure you get off the beaten track and uncover some hidden gems. You could then head to the Atacama, the world’s driest desert. Such extraordinary aridness results in some breathtaking landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world: from jagged canyons to giant sand dunes and salt pillars to exploding geysers. Dehouche can book you one of only 8 cottages in a luxury hotel that is built with local materials to ensure that it fits in perfectly with its surroundings. Activities available include trekking, horse riding, mountain climbing and cycling. You could then fly onto the stunning region of Patagonia, where you would stay in an exquisite hotel which is the only one located within the National Park and enjoys a stunning location, perched on the edge of Lake Pehoe. It is very remote and affords incredible opportunities to really appreciate this dramatic landscape of towering white peaks, blue lakes and enormous glaciers. Despite the far flung location, the hotel has all modern amenities – luxurious rooms, gourmet food, an extensive wine list, a thermal pool and a spa. Activities to partake in include trekking, horse riding, wildlife viewing expeditions and kayaking. After the desert perhaps some lush countryside is in order and a spot of indulgence? Why not head to Argentina’s world renowned wine region tucked up below the Andes stay either on a selected vineyard or perhaps in a luxury hotel in Mendoza itself. Dehouche have a specialist wine guide who introduces you to the regions’ best spots including organising private tastings with the owners of exceptional vineyards – a real treat to hear from the creators themselves!Saving the most exciting activity for last, you would finally hop over the foothills to the Andean ski resort of Portillo. This place is totally unique as there is no town, just the magnificent Hotel Portillo, which contains extensive bars, restaurants and a nightclub, as well as a spa and a heated outdoor swimming pool that provides incredible views of the surrounding mountains. The skiing on offer is generally accepted to be the best in South America; certainly it provides some of the continents steepest and most challenging terrain and plentiful off piste opportunities. The runs themselves are mostly ideal for beginners and intermediates, which ensures that skiers of all standards will have a great time. This is the ideal place to end your wonderfully adventurous honeymoon in South America, every aspect of which will have been carefully orchestrated by the experts at Dehouche.

Let Dehouche arrange your luxury boutique hotel and enjoy a whole host of insider tips on where to truly escape from it all on your honeymoon.

Propelled by the same sense of adventure which first brought Europeans to the Americas, many of today’s visitors to South America come in search of geographical and physical extremes; inspired by thoughts of rugged unspoilt natural beauty, myths of ancient civilizations and the colourful fusion of cultures that is Latin America today.

With its proximity to Antarctica, positioned at what seems the end of the earth, a landscape of formidable, receding glaciers and accompanying inhospitable temperatures, Tierra del Fuego ticks all the right boxes.

Luxury Latin America travel experts Dehouche offer tailor made packages to just about anywhere on this enchanting continent that takes your fancy. As part of your adventure, they can arrange luxury accommodation in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego’s provincial Argentinean capital.

The archipelago is today divided between Chile and Argentina, having been claimed by both in its entirety up until 1881. The largest island “Isla Grande” itself is in fact spilt between the two, with the Argentinean side benefiting from the lion’s share of tourism.

Despite being the last corner of the earth, tourism is starting to catch up with Ushuaia at least, especially since becoming a duty free haven. Nevertheless, the setting of this former penal colony is still dramatic, sandwiched between the snowy peaks of Cerro Martial, the majestic Monte Olivia and the icy Beagle Channel and there’s plenty to inspire the adventurous spirit.

Dehouche suggest taking the end of the world train to the wild national park, stepping through the wardrobe door and searching for the legendary albatross native to this enchanting land of mountains, waterfalls, forests and glaciers.

Ask Dehouche to take care of your voyage to the end of the earth and they will not only feed your imagination with suggestions of other worldly activities, but tell you the best time of the year to visit this sub polar region and perhaps most importantly, where to enjoy the finest example of the local specialty king crab, with a panoramic view of the bay.

Let Dehouche arrange your luxury boutique hotel and enjoy a whole host of insider tips on where to truly escape from it all on your honeymoon.

South America is one of the few continents in the world where in a single trip honeymoon couples can combine such diverse experiences as dramatic snow covered mountain scenery, tropical beaches and any range of environments in from some of the driest desert in the world to the planet’s most biologically diverse wetlands.

In the months of July through to September, after a stay in one of Buenos Aires’s chicest boutique hotels – with everything laid on by local luxury tour operator Dehouche from personal shoppers to an exclusive private dinner and wine tasting with an owner of one of Argentina’s top bodegas, couples might start their luxury honeymoon by flying down to the resort of Bariloche in the picturesque Lake District for five days skiing. With its dramatic scenery, uncrowded pistes and perfect dry snow conditions, the Andes have it all, you can experience world-class heli-skiing or learn to ski powder for the first time – tailored for any level of skier and with your own personal pilot and guide. At the end of a day skiing some of the driest powder you can find in the world, you will be rewarded with a satisfying Argentine steak and can retire to your cosy mountain lodge with a roaring fire and thick duvets. Wake the next morning to a breath-taking view of jagged peaks from every window.

Travelling into Brazil via the incomparable Iguaçu falls only for a stop over though to see the best bits – no need to share your honeymoon with the heaving masses, Dehouche clients often skip straight to the best beaches of Brazil’s northeast. The season dictates where to maximise sun, and in August they would recommend the trendy beach village of Praia da Pipa. Dehouche clients stay in surely one of the best hotel rooms in Brazil – a luxury colonial style chalet set among landscaped gardens and jungle, 5 minutes walk from one of the most stunning beaches on the coast. The waters of this dramatic coast line, north of Bahia, are frequented by rare marine turtles and dolphins, which you can spot from the beach. Natural swimming pools in the reefs and crystalline waters make for excellent snorkeling. Dehouche arrange for clients to have a speedboat at their disposal for the chance to swim with dolphins in the Baia dos Golfinhos, or stopping at deserted beaches to eat fresh oysters at a rustic waterside bar in a mangrove lined lagoon.

Let Dehouche arrange your luxury boutique hotel and enjoy a whole host of insider tips on where to truly escape from it all on your honeymoon.
